This is a personal attempt to select twenty movies among those which have been filmed in Sicily. I would recommend you to watch at least one of these in order to better understand sicilian lifestyle and culture.

IL POSTINO by Michael Radford and Massimo Troisi filmed in Salina
L’UOMO DELLE STELLE by Giuseppe Tornatore filmed in Marzamemi, Modica, Monterosso Almo and Ragusa Ibla
This is not a ranking! It is a selection of movies worth to be watched if you are going to come to Sicily for a holiday.
Of course I have not seen all these movies.........let me be honest by telling you that, among these, I love "IL POSTINO" (and its marvellous soundtrack by Bacalov), while my wife Debora and her english friend Rita adore "NUOVO CINEMA PARADISO".
