Sunset at the salt planes in "Mothia", near Trapani
"Pantalica", the rocky necropolis (UNESCO world heritage site)
"Ortigia", the historical centre of the city of Syracuse (UNESCO world heritage site)
"Scala dei Turchi", a rocky cliff on the coast of Realmonte, near Agrigento
The archaeological ancient Greek site of "Segesta"
"Zingaro" nature reserve and Scopello old tuna fishery
"Marettimo" ("Egadi" islands)
Monreale cathedral and the byzantine mosaics
"La Cappella Palatina" (the palatine chapel) and "Palazzo Reale" in Palermo
Ragusa Ibla" and its baroque architecture
The valley of the temples at Agrigento (UNESCO world heritage site)
"Etna", the volcano
This is not a ranking! It is a selection of places worth to be visited if you are in sicily.
Now I need your help. On the column placed at the right of this article, you will find a poll widget. That is the place where to choose which place is the real "wonder of Sicily".
At the end of October, when all of you will have spent at least a long week end in sicily (I am joking!!!) there will be the contest winner.
